8.0 Presentation
It may not have the 3D of other powerhouse DS games, but it makes up for it with beautiful art, strong effects, deep customization aspects, and a slick overall interface.
7.0 Graphics
More could certainly be done, but effects animations and on-screen sprite counts are pretty impressive. Animations are low-frame, but the style holds up nicely.
7.5 Sound
A few voice clips are thrown in to keep things interesting, and the classic Summon Night musical style makes a return from the GBA Swordcraft. Simple, but effective.
8.5 Gameplay
The touch control is simple, but varied with spells, skills, and attacks. The monster battle system, skill trees, item creation/upgrading, and general flow of the game are all well designed.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
The game will last you a minimum of 15 hours, with a repeat quest, two playable characters, a huge list of skills and customization, and a few decent side quests.
